James Markou is a self-taught wildlife and nature photographer who has been capturing images for over 30 years. His photography has taken him to Africa, Europe and most of Canada and the U.S.A. His photography has garnered numerous awards.
Over the years Jim’s work has appeared in numerous publications, books and magazines. His work has appeared in the following books: A New True Book – Zebras, Enchantment of the World – Tanzania, Nature’s Children Series, Rocky Mountain Wildlife and Wildlife of the Great Northwest. Magazine credits include Birds of The World, Canadian Wildlife, Conservator, Field and Stream, International Wildlife, Maclean’s, Outdoor Canada, Outdoor Edge, Ontario Out Of Doors, Photo Digest and Sports Afield. Corporate clients include the Ministry of Natural Resources, Tourism Ontario, Tourisme Quebec, Nature’s Essence, Sorel and Rocky.
James carries professional credentials from the Outdoor Writers of Canada, CPS Canada and Kodak Canada.
James uses an assortment of Canon professional digital cameras and Canon “L” series lenses, combined with Gitzo and Manfrotto tripods and Wimberley and Manfrotto heads.
